Marni mix-up

I love Marni! wild combinations of colour and print, disparate textures, lightness with solidity....it's all so fearless and exciting.

Some favourite shots from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection inspired me to try a little mix-up of my own.  From the stash a wintry chenille check which I combined with a Liberty floral found at Tessuti.

The shape is an adaptation of the SURREALIST DRESS which I designed for last years Tessuti awards.  I took off the frill and then had second thoughts so I made a petticoat; frilly at the back and straight through the front.

  1. LOVE THIS! I too love Marni and I'm loving seeing you take a more high-fashion source as inspiration here. And it looks amazing on you. (Tights & shoes! Yes!)

  2. Love this dress! Could it be altered to cover the back somehow? I need to be able to wear a bra ;)

    1. You could wear a jersey top underneath and if it was in a contrasting print it would look really cute....now I want to make another one!
