Layering

To THE LONG SKINNY I added the JUMP PANT, a sweater called JACK and an extra long scarf.

The sweater is knitted from Kidsilk Haze and can be found in Rowan Knitting magazine 30 (pattern in kids, women's and men's sizes). The scarf was made by combining an Annyblatt yarn called Astrakan with Rowan's wool cotton and was knitted for me by my mummy.

Black and White

 Why stop at one pair really; for this version of the JUMP PANT I used a medium weight double knit in practical black and white...take off your jacket, switch to heels and out you go!

What a difference a print makes!

  

Extra effort (and fabric) was definitely required to ensure the print was positioned correctly but in this case once the fabric was cut out the project was completed in under an hour.

  

Designed without a side seam the JUMP PANT is the perfect pattern for trying out large scale prints.  The inseam measures 64cm (adjustable) with elasticized cuffs and a comfortable pull on waist.  A tutorial showing how to create the rolled elastic waist can be found right here and the pattern is available in my Etsy shop in Australian sizes 6-14.

Jump Pant

The JUMP PANT was inspired by some shots I saw of a bunch of guys dressed in parachute gear....practical, comfortable and ready for anything!

 

It's super quick to make and features elasticized cuffs and a rolled elastic waist.  Cropped to the ankle with a 64cm inseam (adjustable) it's one of those casual or smart, go anywhere wardrobe basics; in this case a very cool surveillance outfit.

The pattern for the JUMP PANT is now available from my Etsy shop in Australian sizes 6-14.  The printed fleece used for the sample came from Tessuti in Melbourne.

Lounge Wear

Yoga maybe? 

Leisurewear?...I hope not, very disturbing! 

Lounge Wear is a definite possibility.

I made up THE BANDEAU in some leftovers donated by a friend and It's worn here with a velour version of the soon to be released JUMP PANT.  The corded velour for the pant came from goodness knows where, embarrassingly it was purchased so long ago I don't remember.

Making an all out effort to reduce the size of my fabric stockpile which may require some ongoing encouragement...stay tuned for a public Liberty print shaming!
