Layering

To THE LONG SKINNY I added the JUMP PANT, a sweater called JACK and an extra long scarf.

Model - Daniela Balcazar
Original Music - Catherine Rewha
Photography, Styling, Editing - Pamela Cupit

The sweater is knitted from Kidsilk Haze and can be found in Rowan Knitting magazine 30 (pattern in kids, women's and men's sizes). The scarf was made by combining an Annyblatt yarn called Astrakan with Rowan's wool cotton and was knitted for me by my mummy.

Beach Baby

Viewing photographs of the recent resort collections I suddenly found myself in the mood for a Winter escape.  Alas with no time or budget I did the next best thing, I made something summery for my little niece.

To a simple Japanese pattern I added an extra large helping of Auntie Mame; I love Lucille Ball but the 1958 version staring Rosalind Russell is definitely my favourite.  In the spirit of Mame Dennis I combined an Hawaiian print voile, some Liberty print leftovers, aqua top-stitching and a crochet doily...Voilà!  The voile was found at Tessuti and the Liberty print came from Luccello.

Australian Orry-Kelly designed the costumes for Auntie Mame and another little movie which also features his work will be shown at ACMI on the big screen over 3 successive Saturdays....Some Like It Hot!!! 4pm June 8th, 15th, & 22nd.

Givenchy on Film

Showing tonight at ACMI, Otto Preminger's fabulous Bonjour Tristesse.....costumes by Givenchy, jewels by Cartier and Handbags from Hermès!

Released in 1958 and filmed in Paris and the South of France, it also stars Deborah Kerr, David Niven and the utterly irresistible Jean Seberg.

Another Givenchy showcase, William Wyler's 1966 romantic crime caper How To Steal A Million is a must see.  Also shot in Paris; the costumes, locations, cars, makeup etc.....all fabulous, plus of course it stars Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole!

This one is not showing at ACMI however I do know they have copies in the store because that's where I found mine.
